Can Mums who had laser eye surgery before deliver a baby naturally?

Is there any obstetric doctor or similar mums who can help tell me whether my wife can give a natural childbirth or not? I heard from some doctors that my wife should have a C-section because it would be probably for her retina to be detached and then go blind caused by high intra-ocular tension when laboring. She had her eyes have a laser surgery three and a half years ago. At that time her glasses were 10.10 diopter for left eye and 9.8 diopter for right.

Now she has been pregnant for 8 months.

We would appreciate if you could give professional advice.Thanks in advance.
@Ethel & @Pennypincher: Thanks for your answers.
Yes it’s my wife’s first birth. Is there any special process or requirement at doctor’s side for mums having laser eye surgery before? Any pre-birth assesment?

2009 Empowered Patient’s Complete Reference to Laser Eye Surgery and LASIK

Product Description
This up-to-date and comprehensive set of two CD-ROM discs provides a superb collection of official Federal government documents on the subject of laser eye surgery (LASIK). For many people, laser eye surgery can correct their vision so they no longer need glasses or contact lenses. Laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. This changes its focusing power. There are different types of laser eye surgery. LASIK – laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis – is one of the most common. Many patients who have LASIK end up with 20/20 vision. But, like all medical procedures, it has both risks and benefits. Only your eye doctor can tell if you are a good candidate for laser eye surgery. For patients, practical information is provided in clearly written patient education documents. For medical professionals, doctor reference tools and texts have detailed technical information and clinical background material. There is no other reference that is as fast, convenient, and portable – everything you need to know, from the federal sources you trust. This thoroughly researched collection presents vital information from many authoritative sources: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the relevant institute for this disease, and others. In addition to the comprehensive disease-specific coverage, this disc set also includes our Medical Encyclopedia, a $19.95 value! The Encyclopedia presents a collection of official documents about a wide range of medical topics, diseases, illnesses, health and wellness. There is vital information from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Cancer Institute, and more. Topics covered include: major diseases, including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, blood diseases and disorders, lung diseases, and neurological disorders such as dementia and epilepsy * CDC Health Topics A to Z, Foodborne Illnesses, Infants and Children, Injuries, Occupational Health, Older Adults, Women * CDC Travelers’ Health – Destinations, Vaccinations, Diseases, Mosquito, Tick, Food, Water, Clinics, Yellow Book, Children, Airplanes, Cruise Ships, Special Needs, Relief Workers * Dietary Guidelines * NIH A to Z from abnormalities to X-rays. Does having laser eye surgery give any long term or short term side effects?

I want to have laser eye surgery, but i found out from a friend that you could have a layer of your eye tear away and you’ll be left with nothing but excruciatingly blurry vision. Is this true? I was planning on joining the Marine Corps without glasses or contacts. If there are any other side effects please don’t forget to mention them, thank you!

when you get laser eye surgery do you get dry eyes allot?

because i was thinking of doing it in a few years.
