how many photons are emitted by the laser? PLEASE HELPP!!! :)?
A laser is used in eye surgery to weld a detached retina back into place. The wavelength of the laser beam is 513 nm, while the power is 1.5 W. During surgery, the laser beam is turned on for 0.054 s. During this time, how many photons are emitted by the laser?

My left eye hurts when I focus on something that is close to my eye?
I have had a lot of surgeries on my left eye. I have two sceleral buckles, vitrectomy, cataract lens replacement and many laser treatments for a detached retina. I have had this problem with the pain when I focus on something that is close to my eye for a while but it seems to be getting worse. I can not pinpoint when it started so I am unsure what caused it. If I focus with each eye individually there is no pain but if I focus with both eyes I have the pain in the left eye. Any help would be appreciated.
Is there any help for my child? What are the chance of another child in this situation?
I have twin girls who were born at 25 weeks. One had a detached retina and the other had retina that was detaching.Doctors performed laser eye surgery on the one with the detaching retina and she can see.The other seems to be able to see somewhat because she can walk independently.Sometimes she walks without bumping into something; and she can find a person whether the person is moving or still, talking or quiet. Doctors said she would not walk before 5 but she was walking at 2.5 years. What causes a detached retina and is there any hope and help for the twin who did not receive laser surgery? I researched detached retina but the information seemed to refer to adults rather than children born with the condition. What I feel is that there is hope for my daughter but having her evaluated will be costly. Their father is dead and I am a single parent. I am pregnant now and I am wondering if it is something hereditary and if this child will be born with a condition similar to the twins?
Should my optometrist be able to detect a torn or detached retina when she dilates my eyes for the exam?
I was seeing a shadow and went to my optometrist for an eye exam. She dilated my eyes and examined me and said that I was seeing a floater and my eyes were fine. 3 days later it got worse so I went to see an opthamologist and was diagnosed with a detached retina. I was sent to the hospital for surgery. While I was there they found a smaller tear in my other eye. They lasered my small tear right away. In the other eye they put in a bubble to push my retina back. After two days they were able to laser my detached retina. If my optometrist had seen this she should have sent me to an opthamologist right away. Is it possible for her to not have seen the detached retina?

I had laser surgery 2 weeks ago on a detached retina. Will my eyesight improve or is this the best it gets?
I don’t see very well at night and there is a halo around lights. I also have a problem with a foggy blob that gets in my line of vision sometimes. My glasses also seem to be the wrong prescription too.
What is involved in laser surgery for a retina tear?
It’s a horseshoe tear in my retina, not a detached retina. What happens? Do I lay down? Am I awake? what does it feel like? etc.
