I am 21 and my eyes have always been bad, but they have gotten more bothersome as I age. I keep hearing about laser eye correction surgery and I have read up on the procedure, but I wanted to get a few opinions and experiences. If you have had this procedure done, when and where did you get it done (ex. doctor’s office, lasik, etc)? How much did the procedure cost? What pros and cons do you have about the procedure?

Im 17, gonna turn 18 in a few months. I live in belgium at the moment and was wondering if anyone knew if i could get laser eye surgery. I’ve been wearin glasses ffor a few years, and they have only slightly changed the intensity. I really dont like wearin them so if you have any other options besides contacts that would be good.

what should be the reason for doing it and for not doing it? i want to do it because i am kind of blind (but won’t get any worse, most likely), 18 (old enough), and spending money on contacts and glasses. i don’t really like wearing glasses because they bother my nose (all glasses do that) and are prone to getting knocked off when playing sports. also, they get wet in the rain. i just feel more free with contacts but in the long run getting surgery will save money and i wouldn’t have to worry about the harms contacts can do to my eyes. i wore contacts for two years and finally they are doing good to my eyes. but is the surgery risky and worth it? has it become safer over the years? i just don’t want to loose my eye sight or make it worse.

I am having a biopsy done on my retina within the next couple of weeks. There is a white spot that looks very suspicious and 2 retinal specialist believe it to be lymphoma. I just want to hear of someone who has had the same experience and what you went thru with it.

Over the past 15 months, I have had 8 eye surgeries, 2 corneal transplants, 2 cataract surgeries, 3 laser yag eye surgeries, and a vitrectomy. 5 of these surgeries have been in my left eye and my sight iin that eye is now worse than ever. I probably won’t get my sight back in that eye and it may spread to the other one which I have pretty good sight in it now. Any experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone had lasik, or similar eye surgery in the Denver area? I am interested and unsure of who should perform, how expensive it REALLY is and the like. Recovery time is faster and it will save me money in the long run. Any ideas/comments/concerns/advise/experience to share?

Has anyone carried out laser surgery in Japan? Any idea how much it costs here? Most websites are in japanese so I can`t look it up

I had laser eye surgery about a month and a have ago ( to fix a hole in my retina) and I found out I am pregnant I was wondering a few things , does anyone know if this could have harmed the baby ( I would have been about 2 day pregnant when I had it so I don’t think so it but….) I am also wondering if the strain of labor could cause a further deterioration in my retina and if I would have to go with a c-section to avoid this ? well if anyone knows thanks alot !!!
no no now I am farther along the two days I just know the day I got pt was two days before my surgery.

Does it work for all types of vision problem? Does it need any kind of maintenance?

I’m 19, in college. The thing is class starts on the 22nd and I have the surgery scheduled on the 24th…..would it affect class? Does anyone has any experience of it. Because I mean, I have work and class. I do plan to take 2-3weeks off from work already. But would it affect me if I choose to go to class, or read my textbooks? Sigh, I’m so confused, the retina specialist didn’t clarify anything with me and just told me to make an appt for the surgery. He just say my left eye has a small tear. But I’m going to see another specialist to clarify it. How unprofessional. He doesn’t tell me anything until I ask him. Does anyone know the success rate of the surgery? He told me it’s a laser surgery. Because I know someone that has a similar situation but the surgery was not necessary and she ended up blind.

Scheduled to have first of two laser surgeries on Thursday to repair holes in retina. This has to be done before cataract surgery can be done. Curious as to what to expect. All help is appreciated.
